I’m sorry to say, but you are wrong. This is not how compounding percentages work.

Wikipedia has content on this subject. Please refer to the “Compounding percentages” section on this page. In this section, you will see clear examples of how to calculate compounding percentages. You cannot simply add (or multiple) them together as you stated. If you are still confused after reading these examples, please let me know. I would be happy to find more content for you.
